What is massage therapy?

Massage therapy is a holistic health care practice that involves the manipulation of soft body tissues, including muscles, tendons, ligaments, and fascia. Massage therapy is used to promote relaxation, reduce pain, improve circulation, and enhance overall well-being.

Massage therapy has been shown to be beneficial for a variety of conditions, including:

* Pain: Massage therapy can help to reduce pain caused by a variety of conditions, including muscle tension, a heightened or inhibited nervous system and headaches.

* Stress: Massage therapy can help to reduce stress and anxiety.

* Depression: Massage therapy can help to improve mood and reduce symptoms of depression.

* Insomnia: Massage therapy can help to improve sleep quality.

What should I expect during a massage therapy session?

During a massage therapy session, you will lie on a massage table while the massage therapist applies pressure to your muscles with their hands and specially designed tools. The pressure used will vary depending on the type of massage you are receiving and your individual needs. You will be asked to undress down to your underwear and mid way through, while draped, you will be asked to turn over during the massage.

What should I do after a massage therapy session?

After a massage therapy session, it is important to drink plenty of fluids and move in ways that feel good to you. Limit jarring movement as to keep the nervous system regulated and enjoy the benefits! You may be sore the next day depending on your issues and how much intensity was used in the massage, but soon after you will feel amazing!

How often should I get a massage?

The frequency of massage therapy depends on your individual needs. Some people find that they benefit from weekly massages, while others find that monthly massages are sufficient. If you are new to massage therapy, it is a good idea to start with one massage per week and then adjust the frequency as needed.

I’ve had massages before and they were not that good, how do I find a good fit in a therapist?

We only hire the best practitioners to ensure the quality of touch and pain-relieving effects are always above par! We know you will get relief with any of us. We used to offer a trial 30 minute massage but every single client wished they would have done the 60 or 90! If you are ever unhappy with your treatment - email allisonbestlmt@gmail.com and let our owner know!

Where are you located? What’s the parking situation?

Our studio is located next to Dave’s Hair Co. and across the street from the Bodega / Wash N’ Go in Vienna, right on Grand Central Ave. There is usually street parking available, but we also have a small lot out back.

I’ve got more questions - who do I call?

We have an amazing assistant / booking queen who can help you sort out your questions and get you on the schedule - her name is Erica and you can get a hold of her by calling us at 740-459-5330.

Do you offer happy endings or other shenanigans?

We find it depressing that we even have to address this question but… YES, we do get creeps asking for things beyond our scope of practice and we DON’T appreciate it. Please do not ask, do not joke and do not push any of our staff into an awkward interaction. We are a medical focused facility and we DON’T play.

Why do you need my credit card information to book appointments?

See above about creeps. It deters them from booking. Simple as that. Also, we have a no-show & last-minute cancellation policy that charges clients 30% for a last minute cancellation & full-price for a no-show/no-call. Our time has been set aside for you, and we are trying to keep everyone employed. Please call Erica or adjust your appointment online if anything changes with your appointment time. We appreciate your understanding on this matter.

Do you rent your space for events?

We would be willing to discuss any and all ideas for how our bright and cheery studio can serve the community. Please reach our to Erica with inquiries at 740-459-5330.
